About

Farmnet Australia was started in 1999 by David & Susan Ricardo as an online  machinery business.  At that time, Susan ran the Harvest Hotline - a machinery employment business. Farmnet was a spin off from this listing thousands of pieces of machinery over the years.

David is a full time farmer, and has had a great interest in helping farmers and rural communities get online, improve their communication skills and develop internet solutions for their needs.

“The farming community has come a long way getting online”, says David. Using the internet for banking, news, weather, markets and email is great and it bridges the gap between city folks with infomation at their fingertips and the isolated rest of us.

The next step is that farmers and all rural people need their own webpages.  We all have products and services to sell and ideas and opinions to share.  Its a great leap forward for farmers to network with other farmers and be found throughout the agricultural communities of the world.

Farming is a tough business and we need to use every tool available to us.  Farmnet’s focus is on helping  farmers and all associated with agriculture to improve their online presence leading to higher productivity and better communication.
